dr. Haryo Bismantara, MPH

Lecturer of Health Policy and Management

Haryo joined Department of Health Policy and Management as a lecturer on February 2018. He has been working for the Department since late 2015 when he became a teaching assistant at hospital management study interest. He also helped the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing Universitas Gadjah Mada in developing academic health system (a functional integration between university, teaching hospitals and regional government) and appointed as its executive secretary between January-December 2018. Beside his activities in the university level, he had experiences as a researcher and a consultant to several health institutions (e.g.: Ministry of Health, national-level hospitals), specialising on employee engagement and Human Resource for Health (HRH) management. He is now currently Ph.D. student in School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine Monash University, Australia.

  • Haryo’s main research interest is in interinstitutional collaboration, especially related to academic health centre (AHC) and academic health system (AHS) development in developing countries. He is also interested in hospital management, Human Resource for Health (HRH) management and health system improvement.
